Trail #688: Loop the Lake

Saturday - March 9, 2024 - 2:09 pm - 5:09 pm

UC & BVD present SOH4 Trail #688, Loop the Lake, a.k.a. Circumcision II. In the days of yore a humble cobbler (with a charming penchant for going full Cummando) and his lovely lass set an epic hash around the shores of Onondaga Lake for stouthearted halfminds. Read on to the end, take heed our sincere warnings, and make wise choices.

*** It is VERY IMPORTANT that you halfminds read the entire announcement! This will be a LOOOOOONG hash. But there will be a 2nd start location and time too for a shorter option. Read on!***

WHEN: Saturday, March 9, 2024 *Start times noted below in the where section. Read on!
WHERE (2 different start locations, read on!):
START #1 (13+ mile FULL circumcision option. Yes, we are really running around the lake, an A —> A trail!): at 1:69 HST (on out promptly-ish at 2:30pm EST) at Buried Acorn Brewery at 881 Van Rensselaer Rd, Syracuse, NY 13204.

START #2 (6+ mile partial circumcision option. Show up at this time if you want a normal long-ish trail. You’ll meet up with folks reaching the mid-way point for a BN/picnic stop, and then set off on an A —> B trail. You’ll need a plan to pick up your car after trail and/or following the on after at Buried Acorn): at 3:69 HST (4:15pm EST or so) at Long Branch Park at 228 E Shore Trail, Salina, NY 13088 (Willow Bay Picnic area parking).

3RD OPTION: (Choose your own adventure for time and mileage) Park at Buried Acorn, run over the bridge to the lake trail (running clockwise around the lake) and catch us wherever the pack has gotten to… then turn around and run back with us. Plan is to hopefully arrive back at Buried Acorn sometime around 5:69.

HASH CASH: $7 (virgins/first timers are free).
THEME: In honor of Cummando, let’s keep it safe. Break out some safety orange or other high visibility apparel OR alternatively since the whole hash is an Eagle trail let’s see some race apparel.
VIRGINS/DOGS: Welcum, but be mindful that this is a LOOOOOOONG hash and both should be leashed.
ON AFTER: Buried Acorn for food and more beer!

PROMISES:
*There will be multiple stops to enjoy beverages AND a picnic stop mid-way too, AND song checks, hash views, toxic wasteland vistas, and maybe eagles—cuz the whole damn trail is an EAGLE TRAIL!!!.
*Did you we mention this will be a LOOOONNNNGGGG hash, so plan accordingly.
*The starting pack performing the entire circumcision around Onondaga Lake will meet up with the half minds starting at long branch about 4:15pm and we’ll have a BN/Picnic stop with any late-cumer wankers prior to preceding around the rest of the lake.

NON-PROMISES:
*If you don’t read above carefully, you may miss out.
*Trail marks will be sparse, but easy to follow – it goes around the lake, counter-clockwise. Keep up or figure it out.

WARNING: This may not be a totally walker friendly trail; not because it’s hard, but because it’s long (that’s what she said). See above length/description of trail, imagine being mostly on paved trail and on a stinky bridge.

Please Rego in advance by clicking “add to cart” below.
