Trail #291: SOH4’s 5th Analversary Hash

Monday - August 14, 2017 - 6:00 pm

Cum and join the SOH4 crew as we return to our beginnings for a romp around the hills near Syracuse University. It was 5 short years ago that a few curious souls showed up at the corner of Crouse and Marshall streets to experience the strange and wonderful sport of hashing. We were all pretty much strangers then and after a couple of coolish beverages, we were off! The first 200 yards were chaos and confusion. I think all of us knew right then and there that this was for us.

Kickstand and Pink Penalty will be haring this trail down memory lane. We may even follow some of the original trail. It depends on if we can remember that far back. So many trails. So many happy times.

There are two options for themed attire. Option 1: Break out your old school SOH4 hashing gear if you have any. (The original silky black short-shorts are something to be seen, if only rarely.) Option 2: SU Orange and Blue. Not only are they the colors of our kennel, they will also help us blend into the local scene up on the hill. Think of it as adaptive camouflage.

The 5 Year Anniversary is the wood one. <insert joke here>

Hash cash is the regular $5. Virgin’s are free. Bring your ID and a couple other dollars with you as well. There will be a bar BN on trail. Of course, it’s completely up to you if you want to order anything there or not.

Dogs are welcome but should be leashed. This will be an urban trail (mostly) and there will be traffic. Also, our canine companions are probably not allowed in the first BN.

Parking is challenging on the SU hill. My suggestion would be to park somewhere near Marshall Street and walk down to Walnut Park for the start.

Hares: Kickstand and Pink Penalty
Location: Walnut Park
Start Time: 5:69 PM (AKA 6:00 pm)
Hash Cash: $5 or Hash Cash (Virgins/first-timers are free!)

*Note:Please bring your ID! Our hashes are open to all those of you of legal drinking age.

First hash? YAY! We're so glad you picked this one! We are a non-competitive running club focused on having a ton of fun! Be ready for a fun adventure. Bring your sense of humor but leave your new shoes at home.
